Mark Akselrud, MD
Mark Akselrud, MD, is a board-certified internist serving the community of Tamarac, Florida. Dr. Akselrud is specially trained to address a broad range of medical conditions and places a high priority on preventive care, wellness strategies, and health education.
Dr. Akselrud attended Pirogov Russian National Medical University in Moscow, named after Nikolay Ivanovich Pirogov, where he received his medical degree as well as his post-doctoral degree. He furthered his training by completing his residency in emergency medicine at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care. Dr. Akselrud has Ph. D. in Critical Care and Pulmonology. Continuing his training in the United States, Dr. Akselrud completed his residency in internal medicine at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northeast Pennsylvania, managing patients for both acute and ambulatory care.
Since 1999, Dr. Akselrud has run his own practice and served those in Tamarac, Florida, and the surrounding communities of Broward County and beyond. He offers comprehensive, personalized care for his patients at his practice, including necessary health screenings and preventive care like executive physicals, blood testing, and vaccinations. He can also help patients who need expertise in managing pulmonary disease, endocrine disease, and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Akselrud is affiliated with Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center, as well as University Hospital and Medical Center, where he admits patients and provides acute hospital care. He served as Secretary and Treasurer on the Executive Committee Board. Dr. Akselrud also provides care in several local rehabilitation centers and geriatric care and skilled nursing facilities. For the benefit of his patients, he is fluent in both English and Russian. Dr. Akselrud is licensed to practice in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.
